It’s hard to find time to do everything.
The return of the sun has given me a ton of energy, but it seems I’m prone to overdrawing my own personal energy bank.
There are so many things I want to do, for my business and for myself, and somehow I’m not spending time on the right things. These days, I feel caught because I signed up to take sailing lessons 2 nights per week in April, and it turns out to be a much more substantial commitment then I’d anticipated - 2 evenings that start earlier than advertised, and added expectations to bring food for a collective meal.
In addition to the sailing, I’ve also got exercise-buddy commitments 3 mornings a week. Waking up in time for those wasn’t a problem until I added the sailing, but I’m also feeling the pinch of losing 3 mornings a week because we start kinda late and go we go longer than we used to.
I also signed up for a course Wednesday nights - so instead of being safely home to make dinner, I’m now out 3 nights per week until my natural “bedtime”.
It’s just physically taxing for me to stay out late three a week. Pathetic maybe, but also true.
Add to that volunteer commitments that grow rather than shrink, and hello overwhelmed!
I love the sailing (most of the time), and find myself proud of the bruises.
The blogging course is making a noticeable difference in my website.
The volunteer work is the trickiest one - the cause I worthy, but the level of support from my fellow volunteers is nurturing resentment and I’m close to burning out.
On the upside, I constrained my weekend commitments and ended more refreshed than last week.
But I still haven’t found a way to put the business development first and I know that’s a problem.
